Since joining AES in 2014, Jim has played a key role in helping homeowners and businesses transition to smarter, more sustainable energy solutions. As General Manager, he leads the company’s sales, design, procurement, installation, and service teams—ensuring alignment and efficiency across every stage of the solar journey. With a leadership style grounded in integrity, transparency, and trust, Jim is known for his practical insights, clear communication, and commitment to listening and addressing customer needs.

A U.S. Army veteran, Chico State graduate, and longtime North Valley resident, Jim brings a deep sense of community to his work. His straightforward approach to solar design and customer guidance fosters a supportive environment for both clients and the AES team. Whether helping families and businesses lower energy costs or supporting his team behind the scenes, Jim remains dedicated to making clean energy accessible, reliable, and impactful.

Ian has been a key member of the AES team since 2013, helping hundreds of homeowners successfully transition to solar. With experience spanning residential, commercial, and agricultural projects, he brings a well-rounded perspective to every stage of the process. As a solar customer himself since 2017, Ian offers clients a firsthand understanding of the long-term value and performance of their systems.

A Chico State graduate with a background in Finance, Ian combines strong analytical thinking with a clear, approachable communication style. In recent years, he has expanded his role to support the development of Operations and Maintenance programs, helping ensure long-term system performance for existing installations.

Outside of work, Ian is actively involved in the North State community with his young family. He enjoys cycling, traveling, camping, and cooking.

• Chad brings more than a decade of hands-on experience in renewable energy operations, backed by a strong electrical and mechanical foundation. Since entering the industry in 2013, he spent 10 years as a Lead Field Technician before stepping into a leadership role—giving him a deep, practical understanding of system performance and the ability to quickly diagnose complex issues at their source.

  A licensed Journeyman Electrician and OSHA 30 Certified professional, Chad also holds a specialized certification in Operations & Maintenance strategies from Solar Energy International (SEI). He is trained across leading PV, inverter, battery, and monitoring platforms, with particular expertise in thermography and advanced data acquisition.

  As Service Manager, Chad leads with a solutions-first mindset—driving system reliability, maximizing uptime, and maintaining the highest safety standards across every project.

Bryon “Marty” Martinez brings a diverse background in business operations, customer service, and renewable energy, supported by over a decade of professional experience. A Northern California native and Corning High School graduate, he earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration in 2013, with a focused interest in renewable energy and its long-term financial impact.

Before entering the energy sector, Marty owned and operated multiple restaurant locations across Lake and Tehama counties, building hands-on experience in business management and customer engagement. He also served in the Army National Guard, including active duty from 2007 to 2008—shaping his disciplined, team-oriented approach to service and problem-solving.

Since joining Alternative Energy Systems in 2014, Marty has grown into a versatile and dependable contributor, progressing from a coordination role into both sales and service. As an Energy Consultant and Service Coordinator, he focuses on educating new customers on the financial benefits of solar while ensuring existing clients receive responsive, reliable support.
